What are we learning? This week we are learning about safety, both in the kitchen and with food as well as beginning our pastry unit Why are we learning it? We are learning these things because they will help us be successful not only during labs, but also when we cook at home on our own. Kitchen safety is one of the most important things we'll learn this semester as safety is the most important thing when doing any task. We're learning about pastry because it is a delicate art and a great way to begin practicing our skills. How will I know I learned it? You will know you learned it when you pass the kitchen safety test with a satisfactory score and are able to make a light and fluffy pastry dough.
