What are we learning?
This week we are learning about kitchen basics such as how to measure, kitchen tools and their purposes and the math needed to double and halve recipes. Why are we learning it? We are learning these things because they will help us be successful in the kitchen and during labs. If we're able to measure things correctly and use the right tools, we're more likely to be able to successfully make a product. How will I know I learned it? You will know you learned it when you pass the kitchen basics test with a satisfactory score. Monday 8/28: Final work day for summative/taste project. Due at midnight on canvas. Tuesday 8/29: Quick quiz review of kitchen basics, Measuring worksheet; Kitchen Scavenger hunt; Crossword Review of measuring terms Wednesday 8/30: Set up kitchen, Prepare for the first lab (fill out lab group tasks), Review for test (Vocab Bingo) Thursday 8/31: First Lab (oatmeal munchies); Review how Lab went; Review for test via quiziz if time! What are we learning? This week we are learning about food choices, taste, doing 3 tasting experiments and working on our first summative project! Why are we learning it? We are learning these things because they will help us be successful in the course and establish a strong foundation for the rest of the semester. How will I know I learned it? You will know you learned it when you complete the summative project Monday: Finish Food Choices powerpoint; food choices psychological/physical ?s due Tuesday: Taste prezi, come up with descriptive words for the 5 tastes to prepare for lab tomorrow.
