This week we are beginning Chapter 1, an introduction to the restaurant and travel industry Why are we learning it? We are learning these things because they will help us be successful in a future career in the restaurant or tourism sector. How will I know I learned it? You will know you learned it when you pass the test over the information and do well in the practical labs. Activity 2: Ya Basic: Caramelized onions Activity 3: Caramelized onions tart lab Tuesday: Activity 1: History of food quiz Activity 2: Shake n bake welcome to the industry Activity 3: Begin customizing historical food recipe (with their own twist), create grocery order Wednesday: Activity 1: Set up behind the scenes blog Activity 2: Sorbet lab (mix up sodium alginate and passion fruit juice to prepare for tomorrow's lab too) Thursday: Activity 1: Molecular gastronomy spherification lab, finish sorbet and serve with sorbet Activity 2: Any necessary prep work for historical food lab tomorrow Friday: Activity 1: Historical food lab with special guest judge, chef Owen Tonjes! 5What are we learning?
