What are we learning?
This week we are finishing unit on cooking methods. Why are we learning it? We are learning these things because they will help us be successful not only at home when we cook, but also if we choose to make a career out of our culinary skills. How will we know we learned it? We will know that we learned it when we can utilize different cooking methods efficiently in the kitchen. Monday: Thanksgiving Meal Prep (using and identifying varying cooking methods involved in preparation of each dish) Tuesday: Thanksgiving Meal + Finish Notes over Cooking Methods

We are learning these things because they will help us be successful not only at home when we cook, but also if we choose to make a career out of our culinary skills. How will we know we learned it? We will know that we learned it when we can utilize kitchen equipment efficiently and identify the kitchen equipment by the proper name. Tuesday: Feedback about entree and appetizer from Guest Judge Shake N Bake: Kitchen Equipment Socrative quiz #2 Wednesday: Ya Basic: Fruit Curds Discuss changes to make to appetizer and entree Come up with ingredient list/recipe for dessert Thursday: Fruit curds into fruit curd pies with meringues or "bars" (lemon bars) Timelines and equipment lists for Appetizer and entree, as well as assign jobs to specific group members based on cooking strengths Friday: Test over Kitchen equipment unit Socrative pretest over next unit Finish timelines, equipment and job lists from yesterday What are we learning?
