What are we learning? This week we finishing our unit on food safety, taking the test and beginning our unit on basic culinary skills. Why are we learning it? We are learning these things because they will help us be successful not only at home when we cook, but also if we choose to make a career out of our culinary skills. Food safety is an incredibly important skill as well as having a mastery of basic skills in the kitchen. How will we know we learned it? We will know that we learned it when we can make safe food and practice kitchen safety procedures while in the kitchen during labs and are able to complete basic kitchen skills with ease during future labs. Monday: 2nd work day for HACCP Projects Tuesday: Present HACCP Projects; Study for chapter 7/8 test Wednesday: HACCP Lab (Chosen lab from project) Thursday: Chapter 7/8 Test; Brainstorm basic skills in the kitchen (as a class), Begin Chapter 13 with note guide Friday: Finish Chapter 13 with note guide & videos
